The event industry is a world of its own. It is built on festivity, celebrations, special connections and beautiful moments. There is so much pressure, no room for error, high expectations, the weather gods and last-minute changes.
Most business advice is built for a corporate world that just doesn't get what you do.
That’s where I'm different. I know this isn't just about generic business theories; it’s emotional, fast-paced and needs a specific approach. Having built and run my own award-winning events venue, I understand every part of the ride, from the peak-season burn out to constantly growing bookings, reputation and keeping cash flowing all year round.
I provide event business mentoring and education so you understand what’s working, what isn’t and how to improve. That way you will feel knowledgeable, in control and confident about where your business is heading.

For over 30 years, I’ve been known as The Bubbly Accountant. I’m the person who actually gets a buzz from diving into the messy middle of a business to figure out what’s working and what’s causing a bottleneck. There is nothing I love more than seeing the look on a business owner’s face when they finally stop guessing and start feeling in control.
About ten years ago, I decided to jump into the deep end and opened my own event venue. I’ll be honest, I was seasoned at running horse shows and sporting club events, but I didn’t know much about the many other types of events. But this did not affect my venues success, because I knew how to run businesses. And then in a short space of time awards started flowing for my venue. That success came from my mantra - business is much easier than people make it out to be. It’s all about looking at what happened, learning from it, making small tweaks every single time and surrounding yourself with the right expertise.
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial heart, but I’m also a mum of three. I know exactly what it’s like to deal with that parent guilt while trying to grow a business. I’ve lived through the stress of trying to be everywhere at once, which is why I’m so obsessed with creating foundations and structuring a business to give you your life back.
I started Business of Events because I got tired of the lack of expertise and real support out there for event businesses. When I needed a mentor for my venue, I couldn't find anyone who actually "got" our industry. I wasted so much time explaining the basics to people who didn't understand why our world is so unique, and it led to some unnecessary challenges.
I made it my passion to fix that.
I’m on a mission to give you the kind of support I wish I’d had – event business mentoring and education built specifically for this industry. I’ve taken my 30 years as a CPA and entrepreneur, pouring everything I’ve learned into helping business owners in the event world - an industry I truly fell in love with. My focus is to educate and empower business owners and teams across this industry to really grow and pop their bottom line. Plus it takes a village and I’ve built a network of experts who speak our language, so you’ve always got the right people in your corner.
I’ll show you how to analyse your marketing efforts so you can stop guessing, double down on what actually works, and build a brand that people fall in love with.
Together, we’ll look at your sales journey from the first inquiry to the close, identifying exactly where and why bookings might be falling through the cracks.
